We are delighted to announce RCUK 2020 will feature five fantastic plenary sessions:

Sarah Lemer
University of Guam Marine Laboratory

Sarah Lemer is an Assistant Professor of Invertebrate Genomics at the University of Guam Marine Laboratory, where she works on evolutionary marine biology using genomic tools to characterize the processes driving and maintaining  biodiversity in marine invertebrates in the context of a changing environment. She is particularly interested in using genetic tools to estimate population and individual responses to natural or man made disturbances such as increased sea temperature level, habitat destruction or aquaculture.

Morena Mills
Imperial College London

Morena Mills is an environmental social scientist working on applied biodiversity conservation research. She is interested in improving environmental policy that impacts nature and people’s wellbeing. Her research spans marine and terrestrial systems, and both global and local scale projects. For example, at a global scale, she is investigating what, how, and why conservation and resource management initiatives are adopted and spread around the world. At a local scale, she investigate how policies aimed at conserving and restoring biodiversity in the Brazilian Atlantic Forest and coastal systems can be improved.

Srey Oun Ith & Matthew Glue
Fauna & Flora International

Srey Oun Ith graduated with a master of science in Biodiversity Conservation from the Centre for Biodiversity Conservation at the Royal University of Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Her thesis researched the diversity, community, and health of coral reefs around Koh Arch She island in Kep province, Cambodia. She currently works with Fauna & Flora International with support from the Conservation Leadership Programme to create a new Marine Fishery Management Area in Koh Sdach Archipelago, Cambodia.

Matthew Glue is a Technical Specialist in Fauna & Flora International’s Cambodia programme, where he works on marine protected area development, monitoring and evaluation, capacity building and endangered species conservation. He is particularly interested in community participation in management of marine protected areas through innovative techniques. He previously completed a MSc in Tropical Marine Biology at the University of Essex.
